sweet thailand children
since when i became a thailand girl i do not know. maybe when i am studying in international islamic university IIUM, all of the sudden my nationality has changed. it is quite funny for me.
there are students and even cafeteria worker in this IIUM claimed that i am from thailand by asking me the questions about my nationality. i am quite shocked to be honest. am i look like thai's?
if you earger to know how i bacame thailand girl so, these were the situations....
situation a
one day on weekend, a cafeteria worker made his conversation with me when i was ordering food for lunch by asking me..........worker: you don't go back home sister?
afeefah: oh no. i'm just staying at mahallah.
worker: i see, it's ok, thailand is far from IIUM
afeefah: huh? thailand?
worker: yeah, of corse, you are from thailand right?- (he spoke confidently)
afeefah: oh my god...noo..i am malaysian.
worker: really? i thought you are thai's...
afeefah: no..no..no..
the question really makes me shocked because that was the first time i was asked like that.

when i took lunch with my friend, suddenly she asked me a question that never cross my mind.friend: afeefah, do you have lineage from thailand?
afeefah; huh? why do you ask me that question?
friend: because of you skin colour. it's quite different from pure malaysian.
afeefah: hmm..is there any relation between skin colour and thailand?
friend: yeah, of course.
afeefah; actually, i have thailand's blood from my father's side. not exactly thailand. my untie in kg. padang halban can speak thailan fluenty. everytime i went to her house especially when eid, i feel that i was not in malaysia..hehe
friend: oh,i see. now i get the answer.
again, i faced the question about thailand.....

i sit beside a new friend in a debating class. a conversation goes like this....friend: are you a new student in this class?
afeefah: yeah,friend: oh, i see. i have attend the class twice.
afeefah: alhamdulillah, that's good.
friend: are your first year now?
afeefah: nope. i am third year of my study.
friend: oh. i thought you're first year.
afeefah: hee.
friend: wher're you come from?
afeefah: huh? i am from mahallah.
friend: no..no.. i mean,your nationality
afeefah:????????....... i am malaysian
friend: really? i thought you are thai's.
afeefah: am i look like thai's?
friend: yeah, you and your style.
afeefah: oh my god. what style do i have?
friend: hehe.. i don't know how to tell you, but my first impression when i look at you, i thought you are from thailand.
afeefah: huhu..what ever.
again and again the same question i faced......

a conversation goes with my friend as well.....friend: when i look at you, i know you are not pure malaysian
afeefah: huh?
friend: what you mixed with?
afeefah: hmm..malaysia is a multi racial country. i think there is no malaysian that pure malay.
friend: did you mixed with thailand?
afeefah: (i was quiet bored to face this situation). noo.noo..i am pure malaysian.
oh, i hope that was the last question from them about thailand and my nationality.....it is enough.
but actually, it is nice when people claimed that i am not look like malaysian :).
those are my experiences of being thailand girl.
i do not know which part of mine shows that i am from thailand. if i ask you, can you answer me?
